Brighton vs Nottingham Forest: FA Cup prediction, kick-off time, team news, TV, live stream, h2h results, odds

Not since losing to Tottenham in the final in 1991 have Forest made it to the last four of the world’s oldest cup competition but have rarely had a better chance of ending their trophy drought, coming in the same season in which they look set to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in their history.

They will be without star striker Chris Wood, though, who suffered an injury while on international duty with New Zealand, but face a team they thumped 7-0 less than two months ago. Brighton, though, are favourites with the bookmakers having seen off the likes of Chelsea and Newcastle to reach this stage of the competition.

The Seagulls reacted to that remarkable seven-goal humbling by winning their next six in a row before being held to Manchester City to a 2-2 draw last time out.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Brighton vs Nottingham Forest is scheduled for a 5.15pm GMT kick-off today, Saturday, March 29, 2025.

The match will take place at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton vs Nottingham Forest team news

Brighton’s hefty injury list is showing some signs of easing ahead of the weekend. Lewis Dunk and Matthew O’Riley have been passed fit and “will both be options for the game”, according to Fabian Hurzeler.

Solly March is also in contention and will be assessed; however, Tariq Lamptey, Ferdi Kadioglu, Igor Julio, James Milner, and Jason Steele (shoulder) are still all sidelined. Jack Hinshelwood continues to impress at right-back in Lamptey’s absence.

Nottingham Forest have seen Wood ruled out after he was forced off during a World Cup qualifier against New Caledonia on Monday. He has undergone multiple scans as the club waits on a timeline for his return. Taiwo Awoniyi is expected to deputise in his absence.

Brighton vs Nottingham Forest prediction

This is a really interesting cup tie and one which is hard to predict. It’s seventh hosting third, in Premier League terms, with the latter having scored seven on their previous meeting.
